Teenage student drowns in canal
Vadodara: A 15-year-old boy drowned in a canal on the outskirts of the city on March 25 this year. The victim, identified as Harshwardhan Kshatri, had gone to a canal in Ankodia with his friend to hang out for some time.“Investigations reveal that Kshatri entered the canal and slipped into it. He got dragged in the water due to the strong current and drowned. His friend, who is also a minor boy, claimed that he tried to help Kshatri but later left the spot,” said R C Dhumad, police sub-inspector, Padra police station.Kshatri’s family was informed about the incident several hours later following which police and emergency services were called for search operations. Kshatri’s body was found several kilometres away in the canal in Padra on March 26. “Post-mortem report of the body said that he had died due to drowning,” Dhumad added. Kshatri was an aspiring football player and a student in a private school.
